I hate happy new year

Why can't we wish people well all round?

I am angry cos I have nil family due to abuse, trauma.
The love of my life and then my best friend died within 15months of each other.

Anyway I get a message from a person who knows all this and I received a message
Happy new year. And also to your friends and family.
It made me angry

Exactly. I say this all the time. There is the saying, "Christmas only comes once a year, and it's a time when we treat each other a little nicer"

Then I realized how that makes zero sense. Why can't we be a little nicer to each other all the time? Why does it have to be at Christmas time?? THEN I realized that if you give someone something they want for free, they'll be a little nicer to you.

It's pretty screwed up if you ask me.
