Should I be concerned?

I live on a small farm on the edge of a very small town. In a neighbors field behind us a man walks out of the brush at dusk. He walks out into the open field and then disappears back into the brush as soon as he sees we've noticed him. This happens about 2x a week or maybe more. The owner of the property is an unfriendly elderly man so I'm told that lives on the far side past the brush. The man that comes into the field in the evening is probably in his late 30's or early 40's. He doesn't appear to be hunting and its not hunting season. If he is supposed to be there why does he keep hiding? Also past the brush down a ways from the property owners house is a power station. Someone could easily park there and walk into the field. The other evening when we drove by it there was an older beat up pick up truck parked behind the power station. I dont know why I dont have a pic of him out there.[image deleted]

Remain suspiciously cautious. Is there any water back there (ponds) ? Take pics of the license plates you see parked back there by the power station. If you see, hear, or smell anything unusual call the sheriff and report a suspicious person. Give them your info (pics) if they appear interested

@TexChik there is a small creek used by the farmers for irrigation. Not much use for anything else.

@morrgin What about cooking Meth?
LeggyOldWench · 51-55, F
@TexChik I believe that you need to do that inside. Or so I've been told
TexChik · F
@LeggyOldWench No they do it outside here in many areas...just need access to a lot of water, and privacy
morrgin · F
@TexChik its no longer easy for people to cook meth in our area because of the government control of the chemicals needed. Its much easier and cheaper for them to just buy and resell meth from Mexico.

@morrgin That stuff gets stolen( the ingredients) all the time . Possibly someone with a warrant hiding out ?

@TexChik I did talk to the neighbor about him. My suspicion is that he was driving by our field and saw the coyotes that are out there frequently in the early morning. One of them has a coloring that makes them very valuable in the fur trade. I think he was maybe hunting it illegally
TexChik · F
@morrgin Is he trapping maybe? Coyotes are about $20 for a good thick fur pelt here. There, its probably more
morrgin · F
@TexChik this pelt goes for about $300. But trapping isn't allowed right now
TexChik · F
@morrgin for a coyote? Dayum! What about a Bob cat ?
morrgin · F
@TexChik I'm told the coyote pelt is $250 easy and the bobcat is $300 but prices fluctuate each year.
TexChik · F
@morrgin Wow, you must be in the north where the fur is much thicker and the body size larger. In Texas Coyotes , A really good one might get $70. Average is around $30. Bobcats are $150
morrgin · F
@TexChik we are in the Northwest in Oregon.
TexChik · F
@morrgin They definitely grow them big up there! I bet its beautiful out there.
morrgin · F
@TexChik very pretty but lots of rain day after day
TexChik · F
@morrgin So a blue bird day is a special event?
morrgin · F
@TexChik the sun is sometimes a UFO
TexChik · F
@morrgin Here is high clouds and sunny, no wind , about 68
