You can only vote on one answer.
Historically speaking nations can and do fail. America is still an infant in comparison to other nations. Due to political decisions and general economical and ethical decay, a "reset" button is pushed, (metaphorically speaking.) Statistically speaking America will one day need to push that button. What evolves from that point is anyone's guess, but taking into consideration the current environment of this country, I imagine it isn't going to improve.
A lot of people go on about how the "end" will come if Hillary is elected, or if Trump is Elected. They said the same thing with Obama. I am not a fan of any of them but I do know this. It is not one person or a small group of things that bring down a nation. It is not like water through sand. It is waves and more waves, chipping away at the rock until one day the rock wears down and crumbles.
We can try and vote our way to a better President and representatives. We can yell and shout and protest and wave signs. We all have the right to do that but when a country reaches levels of corruption as we are seeing, it matters little what side we are on. There is no good side, only a picking of lesser evils. When that is your choice, you realize there is no choice.
But this post is not to debate politics which I deeply despise. This is about the individual. This is about each person preparing for a time when the button is pushed. This is the realization that who you are now will be someone else post button. This is understanding that life (as you understand it) could entirely dissolve overnight, and while you process the enormity of that also have to think of what you do once that happens.
Do you store food, water, weapons, lights, radio, supplies? Do you have skills to provide heat, food, water, and shelter when your supplies run low or out?
Do you at least have a 72 hour bug out bag? Do you have any plan?
Do you even want to survive and if so, why? Or, why not?
Answer any or all of these questions because they are important.

PLEASE don't let this post fall into a pointless debate about politics. Keep it to your plans when survival becomes neccessary. Thank you.

That's great but you might have to fight your way there, and the supplies will run out. Better to still prepare before heading down there. Good spot though.
