Can antidepressants cause paranoia?

Someone I know just started taking them and suddenly thinks they are being watched and everyone is out to get them 馃槦

Yeah it sounds like the antidepressant isn鈥檛 right for them and they鈥檙e having some sort of psychotic episode or bad reaction 馃槙

@SW-User Im really worried. I wish they hadn't taken them in the first place.

@Nebula It鈥檚 common for someone to have a not so good reaction to an antidepressant, especially if it鈥檚 the first one they鈥檝e tried. I was lucky in that the first one i tried worked great for me, but the second one sent me suicidal.

I would encourage them to go to the Dr. ASAP and stop taking the meds.

@SW-User I want her to seek outside help because I dont think she needs them to begin with. I know Im not a doctor but a second opinion doesnt hurt, or trying non-medicinal options first, like therapy.

@Nebula Well yeah, definitely. Seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist is definitely a good idea. Some people can manage their anxiety or depression really well without medication, others can鈥檛.

@SW-User yeah, I've have pretty bad anxiety all my life and refuse to take anything. I just found other ways of coping that are healthy
