Why won't people take COVID-19 seriously?

I mean, what is it going to take? What really burns me up is how people have the audacity to mock and harass us healthcare workers, like we are the ones who are responsible for putting you on lockdown 🙄.

Here in NYC its soooo bad. I see people in large groups, partying, playing sports etc.. Many of whom don't have masks or gloves. It's getting crazy. I knew once the warm weather came people were going to come out more. Its too sad.

@skip2mylou hence why they are dropping like flies there.

@SW-User So true, ppl just don't care over here. Im tired of staying home as well. But I know It's important for me stay inside to stop the spread of the virus. If people would just do the right thing life can slowly but surely somewhat get back to normal.

@skip2mylou where I live they have lifted restrictions and eased the lockdown due to only having 450 active cases and high recovery rate, they are talking about opening pubs, and cafes and outing areas soon with customer intake limits, even then if they do open up I’m still staying safe and avoiding it.
It’s a huge risk enough f ok r me as it is going to work via public transport every day but I’m the only one in our household that’s still working. Even though I take precautions, it’s still scary as fuck.

@SW-User Hope you stay safe going to and from work. Hope your family stays safe and healthy as well. You're an essential worker and I would like to thank you for your hard work in keeping us safe. I agree that its way too early for states to open up, there's too much risk. I don't like staying home, but I know I have to in order to prevent the spread of the virus. Unfortunately most people are living life as if the virus doesn't exist.

@skip2mylou well I’m no doctor or nurse, I work in supply chain for vet pharmaceuticals. Not really saving lives. It scares me though as public transport is my only source of travel. My partner is a home disability carer so she should take the thank you lol.
But we share a car and I drive her to and from work at evening shifts and she only works twice a week and studies uni at home.
But I suppose out of my house hold I’m first one to put my hand up to take one for the team, keep the rest of the household safe while I live dangerously and essentially.

@SW-User I thank both of you, because at the end of the day you're risking your lives to keep things moving forward and I appreciate it. I hope and pray you all stay safe, and hopefully things calm down soon.

@skip2mylou cheers bro. Things are slowly but surely calming down, we have a death rate of only 100 so far and only 500 active cases with 6000 recoveries. But one thing we need to be wary of is not just the virus itself, there is also quite a lot of misleading info to work out what’s real and what’s not and yes the virus is real, I’m referring to the intentions behind it and what outcome and endgame plans coming up which scare me more than the virus itself, that’s why we need to appreciate our lives and the people we love while we have the love and the life.
