What would you think about your government banning the sale of alcohol and cigarettes during lockdown ?

My government here in South Africa has done this during our 3 week lockdown which started last Thurday.
I think a lot of addicts are going to be quite furious.
The government's reasons are as follows :
- Drinking and smoking weakens your immune system.
- It's also an attempt at reducing domestic violence caused by cabin fever.
- Being drunk reduces people's ability to be socially distant.
- The use of liquor “reduces a person’s ability to exercise the social distancing and personal hygiene required” to limit the spread of the virus from person to person.

I foresee many people breaking the law in order to get their fix. What do you think ?

People who are addicted to those will be climbing the walls. They can make homemade alcohol like wine or beer but it takes a little time

@cherokeepatti Yeah...I think it might help to contain the virus a bit but it is going to fray people's nerves which might cause other problems. We'll see what happens I suppose.

@Wraithorn the liquor stores are open for business here but they either deliver or do curbside delivery after verifying their ages. The problem that I see is when some are at home not working that they can drink so
Much that they get violent on their spouses. I used to have a police scanner radio and noticed a pattern of that during periods of bad weather like ice storms or snow storms
