I don't know that it would have had the opportunity to sprrad as far as fast, but...it would have been harder to contact people, no cell phones, no internet, and school/work would suffer.
@SW-User There was internet. Compuserve, Adelphia and Prodigy existed but there was no world wide web (1992) or web browsers. There were browsers but they were FTP browsers. The internet was text only. BBS existed even in the 1970's.

@SW-User I'm 63. I was there in the 1950's(when the idea of "network" was forwarded to the defence dept by Eisenhower) and I played Space War on a PDP-8 in 1969.

@Elandra77 my point is, I didn't need a link to know that the internet and cell phones were not widely available to individual households. Posting about existence of the "internet" was merely pedantic and not representative of what it was like in 1990.
