You're mentoring a troubled youth....

He has been getting in trouble at school for being late and disrespecting his teachers.

He shares with you that his father beats him and his mother.

He cannot focus in school. He is developing a serious anger problem.

He lies to the teachers about his bruises because he doesn't want to be taken away from his mother.

He wants to stand up to his father but feels like he is too weak and there's nothing he can do.

His father is the sole bread winner for the family but has a serious drinking problem.

How will you help this young man you are mentoring?

Isnt there anyway for child protective service to come in? Sounds like a domestic violence issue, if he is an alcoholic with no means of getting better, the wife and child needs to move out and put him on a restraining order or better yet jailed/in a correction facility. ask the child to videotape the father hitting his wife, and him, doccument as much evidence as possible so the police can take action. But very important to video it secretly. Like implany a secret recording camera on a shelf or smt, camouflaged with some books, if he is drunk and doesnt clean the house, I'll hope he doesnt notice.I hope him and his mom is okay ❤

Share resources with his mother that can help her act like a responsible adult raising a child. She might be stuck in some victim’s logic loop.
