Why would you send your elderly parents to a nursing home?

i had to send my dad to a memory care unit before he killed my mother... he became very violent when he contracted dementia... then i got my mom an apartment in the same building so she could be near him, although he didn't know who she was... :/

@SW-User yes, dementia is cruel.. i watch dad deteriorate right before my very eyes...it was heartbreaking

Life can be so cruel...We work so hard and at the end we still suffering.
