Here most people are expected to take their own lunch when they work a job. I worked for a car lot and one of my duties was to cook lunch and it was for everyone...the mechanic, the other employees and the boss. They didn't have to eat it if they didn't want to but they usually did. The boss doesn't want to eat lunch unless everyone else has lunch. We had a variety of meals including grilled chicken, hamburger, steak, stew, soups, chicken & rice, etc. Sometimes I'd make a Mexican meal at home (enchiladas, Spanish rice, salsa for chips, sofapilla cheesecake) and bring it. Also cooked turkey dinners a few times.

@cherokeepatti That sounds great. In SA maids and gardeners get little money so it is basically accepted tradition that the employer provides lunch. Just bread is not lunch, that's an insult. I will definitely chat to my bro about this. It's like a basic Human rights issue.
