Why are people so turned off if a boy wears a thong swimsuit?

Different people have different reasons. I suspect one reason is that men, more so than women, have a reputation of not respecting boundaries. Women have had so many bad experiences of men who are too full of themselves trying to push themselves onto women. And so, when a man is "flaunting" himself in a thong, all those other associations come into play.
