Do some people really get offended nowadays when someone tells them, "Merry Christmas"?

I can understand if a person doesn't actually celebrate it, but why get offended?

anyone who gets offended by someone wishing them something positive - even if they don't celebrate that holiday - has issues. It's about the intention of the message. If someone wished me happy Hanukkah should I be offended because I'm not Jewish? Of course not!

anyhow, what makes me really laugh is that people think Happy Holiday's is somehow a neutral non-religious expression... clearly not knowing that holiday comes from old English for "Holy Day". granted it's not Christian-specific, but it's still a religious sentiment! 馃槃
