Do some people really get offended nowadays when someone tells them, "Merry Christmas"?

I can understand if a person doesn't actually celebrate it, but why get offended?

No - its for the store to let people know that they are neutral - and dont care that it is a holiday. Even though they reap in mega bucks this time of the year. Christmas time is just another business day to them. No meaning of the real purpose of why we celebrate it.
