Alrighty situation time! What would you do?

Someone very close to you that you absolutely love and adore is on their deathbed and makes one final request of you before they pass away. The catch is their request might take years or even a decade to fulfill and will ultimately get in the way of what you want to do for your life. What do you do? Put your desires and dreams aside indefinitely to fulfill their request or do you reject their request (obviously not to their face unless you're mean)?

I would just let them know that it’d interfere with my goals in life and If they’re truly as close to me as it states they should be able to understand or not expect a request like that from me just because they’re dying🙊. I’d still be by their side until they passed and be as supportive as can be, but I’m not going to live my life for someone else no matter how close or important to me they are.
