Should I go to the party?

A friend I have known all my life through church is throwing a party at her house tonight. She is a couple of years older, and I really don’t know any of her friends. I am more of a wallflower and I have anxiety. Parties where I don’t know anyone make me very uncomfortable. I already bought her a gift and checked the “I’m going” thing on Facebook. Should I go?

Do you have a 'time' to be there ?
If it's just a 'bash', go an hour into it.
People will be sufficiently 'oiled' by that time.
make a fuss of the host, take a drink, do a 'tour of the room', then make your excuses and leave.
