Observed drug screening for pre-employment?

When did this become a thing what justifies that?

if you're clean you don't have a problem...Employers make the rules of who they wish to work for them...As it should be.

@HerKing It’s about guilty till proven innocent
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@MrBrownstone what's wrong with that?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HoraceGreenley Are you unamerican?
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone No it isn't at all.. I've had drug checks, no one said to me I was guilty and had to prove my innocence. But it's a condition of the contract that a) you have the test and b) be clean...You don't accept that, you're free to not take the job, simple.

@HerKing it’s about a nurse shouldn’t be watching me pee because I’m trying to get a job

@HerKing I have to agree with you. If you can’t pass a drug test than maybe you pass on that particular job.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@MrBrownstone Nope. But there is no Constitutional right to be hired by a company.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HerKing Do you get pulled over all the time to show you are not driving drunk?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HoraceGreenley Actually you are unamerican
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone I have seen guys fired on the spot, escorted from the building for being drunk..Game over, do not pass go...I don;t want anyone not in full control working with me, ever.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HerKing How would drug test prevent that?
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone because if they're positive they won't be working with me...What is difficult to understand?

@HerKing what about when they are off the clock
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone Someone is unAmerican because they won;t tolerate employing someone who is under the influence? And would you feel that way if that person was responsible for you or someone close being injured because they weren't in control of themselves?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HerKing Drugs and drinking are two different substances. Glad I don’t work for you.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HerKing When are you going to answer my question?
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone You wouldn't work for me, so no problem.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone What question? It's simple..REALLY simple. Take the test..pass..employed..fail...you're not with this company...
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HerKing Especially since you don’t know the difference between drugs and alcohol.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HerKing Wrong question. Take a breath and calm down. I know you think you are right.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone I am right. What is your objection to the test to establish a company's right to select its employees?
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone Drugs,alcohol? They're both drugs..If either are being used at work then it's game over..
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HerKing I don’t assume people are guilty till proven innocent. Have you figured out the difference between alcohol and drugs yet?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@HerKing Unfortunately for you alcohol doesn’t appear on a drug test. Any more bullshit you wish to say?
HerKing · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone How do you establish then if someone is using drugs that is counter to the employment being offered?
