When you can't remember unimportant details of something that happened five or ten years back, do you make them up or admit you can't remember?

Or just not talk about it at all?
Well yes cause the human brain does that

@MushroomFaerie Actually, I forgot that detail. Lol. But yes, true, we fill in what we can't remember, the brain isn't an exact storage medium, it's quite lossy and is always making connections that are more easy in one way or other (Not, usually, to other people haha) to compress and fill in the blanks. I was thinking of a situation where you know that you don't remember for sure. People can't reliably answer for the part where they mis-remember of course.
@Faust76 it's weird to deliberately make up stories lol

@MushroomFaerie Well, that's what people call "great storyteller". Actually, I don't remember the details but I remember there's these stories, I think, about some great people, I forget which ones now, and like some people point out that we don't actually know if the stories are true or not because they were made by some other popular person or something at a dinner party or something like that, so they could be mostly made up, or not.
admit i can't remember, or flat out leave them out if they're unimportant

Forget about it or find evidence
