How long does it take to get your hair colored? With some streaks?

I just spent 6 1/2 hours in a chair getting my hair colored a shade lighter with a few streaks (foil). SIX AND A HALF HOURS!!! I went in and paid for a color with streaks and a hair cut plus styling. After 6 1/2 hours...I was so exhausted. Most of the time was spent having the foil streaks put in. I came when they were opening up at 10 AM and left at 4:30 with my hair soaking wet and not cut yet. I just couldn't take anymore. My questions and complaints met with hostility from the lady in charge. I am 72 years old and have arthritis; it really hurts to sit in one place having my hair yanked and pulled hour after hour. I skipped breakfast so was hungry all day, now too sick to eat much for dinner. I had planned to get my hair done and then leave town to drive for a few hours to see a friend who lives in another part of the state. Now I am way to sick and exhausted to dare try to drive. I had really wanted to leave today to avoid weekend traffic tomorrow but I wouldn't dare drive now.

Oh, dear. You are right, that's way too long. A good stylist (experienced, and who is not distracted!) can do my long hair in 2.5 hours. That includes foils all the way through styling. And I will pay a little more for that expertise (but only a little).

Time to find someone new, I guess!
