How good are you at grabbing those facts out of thin air and putting your own spin on them in order to support your opinion?

Facts and opinions are two different things.

@NankerPhelge Is that a fact or an opinion you just shared?

@SW-User It's a fact. Surely you know the difference between facts and opinions. I'll use the Beatles as an example.

The Beatles were from Liverpool. That's a FACT.
The Beatles were the most successful band in the world in the 1960s. That's a FACT.
The Beatles disbanded in 1970 and went their own individual ways. That's a FACT.
The Beatles were the best band in the world. That's an OPINION.
The Beatles were OK but vastly overrated. That's another OPINION.
The Beatles were complete horse-shit and they didn't even deserve one hit, let alone a whole string of hits. That's another OPINION.

Nobody can dispute the first three examples because those are all irrefutable FACTS. The last three are different OPINIONS, some will agree with one of them and some will agree with another. Need I say more?

@NankerPhelge What parameters are supporting the fact of them being the "most successful band in the world in the 1960's?" That sounds like a very subjective statement.....
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@SW-User Sales figures and general popularity as compared with other bands. Those represent the factual side of it. I can, however, see that such facts were the result of millions of similar opinions coming together, but the facts as I stated them are still facts.

@NankerPhelge So it goes back to my original statement...if you ever went with the opinion of the Beatles being the best band of all time you'd easily be able to rattle off some facts to support it. You possess the ability to substantiate a thought. It's an underrated talent these days.

@SW-User Other Beatles fans would do the same thing, I'm sure.
SW-User
@NankerPhelge They'd have to in order to defend such an overrated band.
