@Pineapple You can't argue faith with logic. For that point, the Bible (in all its thousands of different versions and translations) is literal word of God. So that's, literally, the old man describing himself talking to himself to a third party who wrote it down.
IF the Bible is true, then God created everything and caused it to be written in such a way, and all the inconsistencies are there to test your faith, because he could've just made you believe if he wanted to, and he wants you to prove yourself by believing illogical and inconsistent things. But this explanation only works if you already believe.

@Wraithorn They give God a lot of human characteristics and often not the best ones.They bring God down to our level so they can may be understand him better or they bring him down to our level because they do not understand him at all.Or they figured out it was a better way to control the masses by attributing their agenda to God.
