I sent a gift to someone as she was down in the dumps

Maybe she was feeling vulnerable, and you made her feel seen ?
Not saying you did a bad thing - in fact it was really lovely🤗....good on you for being empathetic💪

Sometimes kindness can make others feel embarrassed about their insecurities.
Its like, the kindness 'hurts' ? - if that makes sense?
- kindness can creep past your defences, where as ridicule and anger can be screamed at.
Kindness can make you cry.



I had some panic attacks at work a few years back - and it was so hard to return to work days later.
In a way - it compounded my fear of people: i was now embarassed about my behaviour, scared at what they now thought of me, and now they knew my failings, my fears, my weakness.

They had seen me at my worst...
...I wanted to block it all out. Disappear.

Coming back, and nearly everyone ignoring what id done was good - it helped.
But one person was really kind about it - it made me cry....it made me feel like shit.

Not that i hated them for it - it just made me feel so weak, fragile.... broken.
- it was then that i realsied i didn't know how to deal with kindness. I wasnt used to it.
It kinda scared me.

Maybe you scared her?🤔
Maybe she's never been given kindness and she got terrified to let it in ?



Some people laugh to hide pain
Some people get angry when they hurt
Some people hide when in sorrow
...for these people, its SCARY to be vulnerable, and they will do anything to run from that feeling.
