I had a horrible nightmare of fighting with the person who gave birth to me

It was over LGBT rights.

It actually did occur in reality, several times. I remember her conflating Gays with child rapists and me being like "wtf mum? Since when did you start caring about children's rights considering what happened to me?"

And she kicked me out a house I actually owned.

Even my brother who is educated in compared with the general population has really wrapped up understanding of LGBT community. He made an attempt or two to try and argue it is mental illness.

And my response was usually that I am lesbian..He does not like to think of me that way so he ends the convo or backs off because he wants to stay in my life.

People here really have long way to go.

I honestly think LGBTQ+ activists have done more damage for the LGBTQ community.
Those activists are what people mostly see and when they act all insane, it paints the whole community in the same light as them.
Most people I know that are LGBTQ are very normal people just wanting to live their lives.
If more people seen the community like that I firmly believe there would not be so much hatred now.
The activists and fanatics are making everything much worse

@Torsten

I don't see any LGBT activists in my threads trying to divert responsibility unless you are one.

Not to mention that being an activist here is pretty much a jail sentence. People don't get engaged in activism the way you are trying to paint it to be.

It is serious sacrifice.

You add to the problem with your need to push a silly narrative unto my vent thread.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Miram I mean in general not just here. I am not spreading a narrative but more sharing my opinion

People mostly see the activists online not in person. Youtube, twitter and tiktok are perfect examples

@Torsten

You watch too much Youtube. Maybe that's why.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Miram no that is not it
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@Torsten sadly, those activists are very necessary. People who are loud and obnoxious and crazy may not look the best, BUT THEY ARE SEEN.

Erasure is the biggest current battle going on in some US states. People who want to drag civil rights backwards are taking the first step of trying to get these topics out of sight and out of mind. Because then those groups become easier to target.

The people who have problems with activists tend to have problems with the quiet and normal people as well. They just use the activists as the excuse to hide their bigotry behind.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@ViciDraco sounds like assumptions not real facts. I have no issue with that community, I do the activists though and I am not alone on it. a lot of People in said community also have issues with them.
Activists might be necessary but radical activists only do more damage
Miram · 31-35, F
@Torsten

sounds like assumptions not real facts.

That applies to you blaming activists.

Your opinions formed from excessively watching youtube are not facts.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Miram already pointed out i dont watch a lot of youtube and when I do, it is nothing to do with this subject.
I see you just ignore I mentioned twitter and toktok though
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@Torsten can you provide a solid example of radical activists doing damage? I'm not sure what you mean.
Miram · 31-35, F
@Torsten

It is the same crap to me, cloned in different platforms..

Also I don't appreciate my venting space being turned into a place for you to stroke your ego.

I suggest you take it elsewhere. Can't even share a nightmare and my feelings without you politics nuts from the US wanting to ride my dik.

@ViciDraco You two can talk about his idiotic narrative in PM or his own profile.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@Miram nah, not worth my time. I was just trying to unmask the bigotry behind the psuedo-tolerant facade.
Miram · 31-35, F
@ViciDraco
It is too obvious. You can't at the same time claim some activists getting more attention is problematic, and also be giving them more attention by diverting from my thread and attempting to take the discourse there and shift responsibility.

He is part of the problem he is whining about.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@Miram conservatives in Florida are taking that very tactic to roll us back to the situation you face. They hide behind every conceivable excuse about how they aren't trying to take away anyone's rights but the wedge is just super obvious to anyone who knows what to look for. And I really don't want people falling for it because if they find the opening to take LGBTQ rights away, they will take it.

Also, he claims he doesn't get this from watching too much YouTube and then starts using TikTok as an example as of they aren't basically the same thing.

Keep up the fight. Wish I could say once obtained it is forever, but sadly the struggle never ends.
