Some times in our dreams we see things that we are afraid or we think alot in our life's metaphorically.i don't know what your dream was but i hope you feeling better soon.

A dream can actually feel like its real, even to the point you can control your actions during a dream.
Premonition can be added to this too.

Now to go back in and with the landmarks you have documented and recognize you are in that dream.

This is interesting.. when I was in my late teens early twenties I could lucid dream. It stopped working for me. Mine were rarely very dark. Always pretty good as far as dreams go. I could focus on someone I wanted to have sex with and do them in a dream.. I really like that part. No more though.. gone.

So if you are lucid dreaming you are consciously choosing to do dark stuff?

Maybe replay over several different successive versions, choosing different actions, bend it to something that reflects your values more closely. Reshape reality.
