Loneliness.

The older I get, the more it is starting to bite. I have always enjoyed being alone. Now it's different and difficult.

Is loneliness the problem or is it a lack of money? Failing health could also be robbing you of the joy of being alone.
@sree251 health is just fine. Losing my dad has torn me apart and now wonder what really is the purpose. Finance is ok and I can see, it improving but still.

Death of a friend, which your dad must have been to you, is a gaping chasm in your life. The impact is quite amazing because you never thought it could ever be that affecting. It brings into question the substantiality of your very own existence. Is this the "loneliness" you are talking about?
@sree251 That too but also, I feel like I am alone in this word. A purposeless life. Lacking drive to go for something. Clouded mind and emotions. It's just so many things and it's overwhelming

"Aloneness" is a fact. A truth even but we bury this with a sense of purpose: having a family, friends, career, a cause.

You have a choice: either stay with this loneliness or bury it with distractions.
