common table or table for one?

No... I don't think I'd like the common table idea.... AWKWARD 😬

I don't mind eating alone... actually would probably prefer it to sitting with someone I didn't know.

I usually carry a book with me and often read while eating.
Also enjoy people watching.

If a place is busy, I might ask a single diner if they mind if I share their table. So far, no one has said no.
I say thank you, sit, then keep to myself and read -
unless they start a conversation, in which case I respond positively and join in.
I've had some interesting encounters that way. People are endlessly fascinating.

I never eat out alone but if I did I'd find a private corner all by myself and pig out. 🐖

I have at times sat at the counter of a diner and struck up a conversation with the person sitting next to me. That has not always gone well, however!

On one hand a common table could be nice.
but im weird about how other people eat. Food noises really do bother me from time to time and I dont want to hate someone because they are eating funny.

I like the thought of a common table. There's a place I go that has a little bar that faces the window so you can sit alone and don't have to look at people.
