What was the most valuable lesson someone taught you?

A teacher told me to learn everything you can, even if you don't like doing it. Some day them skills might save your life or someone elses life.

Most valuable lesson ever.
My father once told me, when I was small, "Don’t say anything about someone that you wouldn’t be willing to repeat in their presence."

Advice that has served me well both at school and in the workplace.
It's okay to put yourself and your needs first.

They also use their super powers to instil fear in me, so that I avoid some places and or people and folks. Or things, or anything that I fear. So, they can lock me out of that place. Allah is very, very observant of that. Might lock you up with Beatrix again :)
There is nothing wrong with you.

To tell them my biggest fear, and then, they will use it to lock me up.
