Is it normal for older siblings to give tough love to their younger siblings? If yes what was your experience like?

I remember as a child I pushed a lot of people’s boundaries and they’ve gotten in my face and told me to stop sternly and I backed off. One time I bit my older sister twice, she firmly told me to stop. So then again I bit her and shockingly she bit me back HARD. I was shocked and I cried. My sister said, “Now you know how it feels! Are you going to stop?!” I yelled, “Why did you bit me?!” And she flat out said, “To teach you a lesson on respect. Are you going to stop?!” I said “Yes!!” And she sternly said, “Then stop biting.” I haven’t done it since then.
I through a HUGE fit when my older brother was babysitting me. I was grounded for something I did I don’t remember. Of course my dad to my brother and I was still on punishment. My brother refused to give me ice cream so I pushed him. I pushed him so many times and screamed. He pushed me back and said, “Did you like that?” I said, “No that was mean.” Then he firmly said, “Well stop pushing me and learn respect.” Then he pushed me out of the way and continued what he did. Older siblings can be so mean.
My brother is 19 years older than me and my sister is 15, almost 16 years older than me.
