I Want To Share Some Life Lessons

Being alive for 25 years is a blessing because through those 25 years, I've molded myself into something I've never imagined to be. I am who I am today through my experiences in my 25 years of life and I would like to share with you my current 25 most important thoughts. I could not put them in order because they are basically all equally as important from one another.

1) In life, family is the number one most important necessity that you should always prioritize, never forget, and always forgive. Blood is thicker than water.

2) You choose your emotions. Today you want to be happy, you'll be happy. You want to be sad, you'll be sad. You want to laugh, cry, pout... you'll do all exactly that. So choose wisely, because in the end of the day, your emotions greatly affect your personality and they also affect others around you.

3) With #2 being said, if you do hit a rough patch and you're feeling down and out, know that its only temporary. A feeling is only temporary and created only by one's self. So ask yourself, is it really worth it, your time and your energy?

4) Try and do something useful everyday. Something that may help you develop as a more skillful and knowledgable individual. Read a book. If you have the time, take some short certificated courses, or simply engage in conversations with many different, wise people. Do an event, a marathon. or even volunteer with the community. We can always better ourselves, but doesn't mean we chose too. Because it takes much more effort to get up and do something, meanwhile we can sit and do nothing. Don't be lazy.

5) Never say you're lazy. If you had a long day and you're tired, that is a different story. But never be lazy!

6) The best relationship you can ever have in life is with yourself. You know what makes you happy, you know what makes you sad, and you know what to expect... you know you. So treat yourself. Spoil yourself. Give yourself everything you want, merely because you deserve it.

7) If you have given something all you got. You've tried everything possible to be successful. And you never gave up. You are successful... That is what I call success. You're only upset about something when you know you didn't give it your all.

8)The past is the past. It is called past for a reason... because it passed us!!! We got through it, so don't let it linger on. Our past doesn't define us, it simply makes us more knowledgeable and more experienced in life. It is part of the development of human beings. Without it, we wouldn't know from right to wrong. From good to bad. From failures to success. Remember that we make our own choices. We choose who we want to be and what we want to be. Don't look at the past as something negative. But look at it as a teaching tool. We learned it. We put it aside until we can utilize it again.

9) Respect. Whether you are 10 years old, or 50 years old. I will treat you the way you treat me. Respect is a very important virtue to acquire.

10) A lot of times there will be people you butt heads with. Doesn't mean your right and there wrong or vice versa. Everyone is raised differently. Different environment. Religion. morals. beliefs. Agree to disagree instead of changing one's mind. Not everyone is the same, because if that were the case, life would be boring.

11) Give to other without expecting anything back. Do favours without expecting favours in return. Do these things for yourself. To know you did your job as a friend, a family member, a stranger...

12) Eat healthy, exercise and drink water. These are the best things you can do for your body. After all, you owe it to the one thing that allows you to live life. So preserve it as much as you can.

13) Tell your love ones that you love them because although they may know it, its a different feeling as to when you hear it. Sometimes our actions are not strong enough to create that security of certainties of the feelings we have for one another. Although actions are louder than words, do both.

14) Everyone has a busy life, but regardless of how busy you are, remember to keep in touch with those that are important to you. Always make time because it is eternal, but the one's you love are not.

15) Don't look at the things you don't have, look at all the things you do have. That includes good health, shelter and family.

16) Sometimes things aren't meant to be. Accept it and move on.

17) Yesterday was an old day, and tomorrow is a new day. Focus on today!

18) Prioritize yourself because in the end of the day, you're the one living your life. So what you do everyday matters to you and only you.

19) Trust someone until they give you a reason not too. Remember, they are not those same dishonest experiences we've encountered before.

20) People do things for a reason. Whether it is cheating, lying, stealing, etc. Figure it out and just help them be a better person. Try to understand others rather than assuming and judging them.

21) Be consistent with your personality. They say first impressions always matter the most. This is not true. Its the way you carry out that impression throughout the whole journey. Whether you were the same person from the beginning to the end. Don't hide your true self, if others don't accept who you are the first time around, understand that they will never understand.

22) Help a stranger out and you will receive the best reward you can ever get... a smile.

23) Stop complaining, if you're gonna do it, just do it.

24) Take risks. Life is a risk in itself. Try everything... Live a bit.

25) You can do anything you want to, as long as you put your mind into it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

And for good luck... Who cares what others think, do what you want to do and be yourself, as long as its a good self!
Obviously these are my opinions based on my experiences, and if you don't agree with some... refer back to #10.
