Someome exlpain thanks giving food to me, please

I just watched a tiktok of a girl mixing boiled green beans, condensed mushroom soup & crispy onions together & calling that a side dish.

& I'm starting to wonder if it's actually a bit that you've all kept going for a couple of hundred years because this can't be reality, I refuse to believe it!

@MethDozer and it clearly states that casserole dishes csn be made in other cooking containers .

And as to 'popular, yes , id say traditional international dishes that spread across the world to other countries would be considered kinda popular.😏

But just becuase American cooking views it one way, and the rest of the world sees it another, doesnt make you more right than anybody else .

Its just different.

Casserole recipes were being invented and refined before america was ever settled

Ok, so your culture uses the term differently. It does that with many things, the english language, driving on the right side of the road, measurements.
It doesn't make anyone wrong here.
Its just a uniquely American interpretation. Which is fine .

But stop telling me the way the rest of the world has to see it.😂 Other cultures have their own way too.
And thats also fine .

I did say American cooking is kinda unique. And there was a reason why.... You guys do stuff differently.
