Why can't you get what you want?

People, is it possible that the reason you're not getting what you say that you want is because there's some unconscious part of you that doesn't actually want it. Ask yourself this question. What is the resistance between you and the thing that you say that you want and if that resistance could speak, what would it say? It would say no, why? Fear, fear of change, fear of chaos, fear of the unknown the ego doesn't like that the ego wants to stay in control at all cost because control is safety and by ego I'm talking about the identity, self and this is where it gets stickier because if you've never had the thing that you say that you want, you don't know WHO you are when you have the thing that you say that you want and the ego doesn't like that either, and the ego likes the known even if the known is suffering so getting what we want requires a disillusion of ourselves image of the attachment to WHO we think we are, and this is a kind of death which is why it feels so terrifying and why will do anything to avoid it, but this is the hero's journey we leave behind the known for the unknown and have faith that there's something beautiful waiting for US on the other side.

It’s been my observation that a lot of the time it’s because what they say they want isn’t as high a priority as what they actually want. Everybody wants things. Not everyone is up for the sacrifices it often requires though.
The Rolling Stones said so
