I don't know that there was a lot of human sacrifice or persecution of Christians in the 11th century. But then again, how can we really know?

@DunningKruger There wasn't, but the Church did persecute anyone thought to be "witches", and heretics. (The nadir of "witch-hunting" was in the 17C though.)
