You know, I am not a Trump supporter by any means at all.

But I do not approve of what happened to the man. And I don't think it is fair to put everyone who doesn't support him in the same category as the lunatic who tried to murder him.

I wish he weren’t running for president, and I believe he will destroy our country, if he gets the opportunity.

I still remember the jokes his supporters made when a cowardly Trump supporter attacked the Speaker’s 82 year old husband recently. He’d done nothing to anyone, just happened to be her husband.

I’m not much concerned about being the "better person" anymore.
Trump once commented that maybe the "second Amendment people" would deal with Hillary.

And on more than one occasion he has actively tried to incite his supporters to harm others.

I’d be a hypocrite to pretend to feel bad if he were to get even a little of that karma back. 😞

@BlueGreenGrey But you are missing a thing. If we don't take the morally more sound stance - then we have already given up. This can also be a platform on which to agree that we have some things in common. Not necessarily with the politicians directly - but the voters in between.

By following your ideas I'd say it matters not if Trump runs or not - or is alive or not. Because the problem from the standpoint of democracy is the opinion of the voters.

@bijouxbroussard well, fwiw, from what I can tell you have been the better person, as of late. And it's to your credit. Keep the faith!

@ffony Perhaps it wasn't clear. Sorry. The "problem" from a standpoint of democracy is if the voters no longer see a use for it.

I can see how it could seem a bit oxymoronic

@Lucia I think the problem with democracy is the huge proportion of the population that despises it.

@ffony The biggest threat to democracy is people being lurred into the thought line that they, specifically, will benefit because they supported autocracy right from the beginning.

They wont. But they wont know this until it is way too late.

@Lucia You forgot to say "I think" or "I believe" 😊. Actually I think 🙂 democracy poses so many problems that it's difficult to identify 'the biggest.'
