People lie for many reasons.
Sometimes, it's okay to forgive them and continue the friendship.
Can you talk it out or is this a pattern with him/her?
If it's an ongoing problem or they won't take responsibility for their actions,then you may want to reconsider the friendship.
Of course, if you choose to forgive and continue, doesn't mean you should just accept lying or other disrespectful behavior in future.
