he lied about his age for 2 years

the guy im currently in a relationship with has been lying about his age since the minute we met. i’ve known him for two years and i feel like i’ve never really connected with anyone else like i feel connected with him. we first dated two years ago and he broke my heart, but has since changed as a person and we are now back together again after two years. he just revealed to me that hes been one and a half years younger than me the entire time. while he was 13, i was 15. and we were dating. i’m 16 now, and up until a few hours ago i thought he was 16 too. he said he lied because he knew we’d never be together if he said his real age. my question is, is it it too weird to date him when i turn 17 whilst he’s still 15? should i break things off until we’re both over 18? I just have no idea what to do from here. I really love him. a lot. and he loves me too. what do i do? i need help. please.

if he lied about something as easily verifiable as his age, what things which aren't so easily verified did he lie about...

If he hasn't lied about anything else and you love him, I think you can forgive him for wanting to be with you so much that he even lied. And he had the guts to confess his lie too.

Where you find one lie, you will discover a whole string of them right behind it.

This is up to you dear. If you think you're really connected with that person, let him know it hurt you. It's not bad to continue, your age gap isn't bad. Tell him you want to know all truths. I believe you can progress in your relationship. If you two can get through this, I think you have a lovely potential to spend life together too.

Love doesn't break up with somone over something like that. So if you do I doubt it was love.

@soulshadow love also doesn’t lie about their age for two fucking years

I'd forget about him. He's immature in age and attitude.

Age has little to do with it.

Yeah, it's not that big of a deal.

So what
Looking at the replies, people have mentioned to be wary of lies .

Which we should be .

But honestly - you guys are teenagers and still learning who and what and how to be.

Also - he came clean about his lie, voluntarily - which shows emotional maturity .

In five years, 2 years difference will mean nothing.
It's all about how you connect and communicate.

I think the way through this is to look within yourself and ask yourself "what do I value most in a partner ?"

Write down the top 10 things in order of importance

- and then circle the top three .

-- there you will find your answers .
Normally I'm pretty suspicious of liars but kids do stupid things at that age, especially about their age. A 2 year age gap isn't all that severe at your age, but maybe your culture is different

So it’s just age if you guys love each other and you’re family is not against it why break up with him he clearly loves you to have lied about his age
