What causes a person to develop a bad temper? [I Hated My Childhood]

My mother had a terrible temper, easily triggered by almost any little thing. I walked on eggs in her presence. You could never really tell what might set her off. She once threw a chair across a restaurant because she mistakenly believed the waitress had brought salad dressing (on a lazy Susan) when she hadn't ordered it. During their marriage (which ended in divorce) she beat up my dad and sent him to an Emergency hospital three times.

How do people get that way? Have you ever known anyone like my mother?

My mother was like that. Her parents spoiled her miserably. I remember once she was assaulting her step mother. My grandfather just stood there saying "Please be nice".
She never grew up, emotionally she remains an angry 3 year old.

@curiosi not that it's my business but did your mom live into her 90s? More often than not it's the evil assholes of the world that live the longest lives. Well like my sister was 60 years old when she died and she was one of the nicest people you'd ever meet, she just did not get mad about shit. My step dad's kind of an asshole and he's like 83 years old I think. I don't think that old bastard is ever going to die. Probably outlive my grandson

@CestManan You're right the evil seem to live a very long time. My mother is still alive at 81. It seems impossible as she is morbidly obese.

@curiosi you know they talked about how being overweight will shorten your lifespan in all this bullshit but I've known plenty of people that are plenty old and morbidly obese. You know how right now they are blowing covid-19 out of proportion? Seems they do that with every single element out there. Of course no one ever learns. Hahaha

@CestManan 500lbs is beyond morbidly obese.

@curiosi holy shit, how does a human being get that big unless they are like seven and a half feet tall?
curiosi · 61-69, F
@CestManan 5 feet tall, and extremely lazy. Hates good food, eats candy, cake and cookies washed down with a diet coke.

@curiosi the stereotypical Diet Coke. My roommate's mom is probably about 5 feet tall and close to 500 pounds. She seems okay though from what little I've talked to her but when I do look at her I think, how does her heart not just explode?

@CestManan Mom lived to be 94. Being old did not make her any worse.
