Feeling a bit rejected
A friend invited me to go shopping with her today, and said she'd message me when she wanted to go. But she never did, and I'm wondering why I get my hopes up so much when I know nobody can live up to them.

The Human Condition my friend. We're not robots (some are), nor are we built the same (some are). Empathy vs Apathy with a touch of Antipathy thrown in to really toss your marbles around and dislike human social interactions forever, or until the next individual skips along towards you and it all repeats itself all over.
But, you are more the wiser for it and also is your emotional IQ. Just as long as you allow yourself grow along with it, those "stonks" will keep rising.
Does that make sense? 20 years ago before I married and started having children (gawd I can't believe my oldest is going to be 21 in a couple weeks), I never would have said anything like that, but you live and you learn. 🫡😉
