When is it ok to ghost someone you love if something comes up?

Is it too much to expect at least a quick text to say they have something else they must attend to ? I dont demand to be top priority but give me the courtesy of a quick heads up so I dont wait all evening for nothing then wake up in the
middle of the night feeling hurt and feeling pathetic for feeling hurt.

I’m not sure the context of this. I get hurt easily with stuff like and I’ve had to learn to not be so sensitive. Sometimes things just get busy I guess. Is this a romantic type relationship?
