Is completely erasing your memories the same as death?

morgangray · 31-35
I'd guess it was closer to rebirth, starting with a fresh and clean slate
@morgangray A rebirth in an old body?

Not necessarily, but perhaps it's the same as being reborn....

I think it would be quite close. Memories are a large part of who we are. I suppose if they are almost unbearably painful we may wish for death but hopefully in time we'll learn even unconsciously, to somehow accomodate them. We can't just start all over again.
I'm wishing I could do just that sometimes. But would I turn out to be someone completely different or the same person with no memories?

I think so. i am unable to visualize mentally. So, if I lose other memories of them, they essentially disappear. If all were gone I wouldn't be me.

it is completely erasing your persona. that was created by your memories

Death is accompanied by complete erasure of memories.
