We've all heard that Math requires practice. What other suggestion do you have?

Relate math to other fields for better insight.. and stop using a calculator for (simple) calculations! One of my acquaintances is a mathematics teacher and all of his students become good at math thanks to him. You know why? He doesn't let them use a calculator.

Things that helped me pass my Statistics 101 class at university (granted, it's not pure math but it uses math):

- get a private tutor. They are the best!
- every day (!), have in-depth, hour-long discussions with your friends about mathematics. 60% of your day should involve the study of mathematics! Remember, you need to keep this up for months on end!
- use every possible educational resource on the internet. I found a good stats professor on Youtube.
- have your tutor explain material you struggle with, have him have you work out each problem on your own until you get it right and you fully understand it.
- discuss mathematics with everyone you know, even in (specialized) chats, forums, everything! Friends, family, everyone!

You need to understand the principle.
And then it's just practice.
No other way.

Like all other problems. If you don't understand how it works, don't be afraid to ask !
We've all had teachers who when they try and explain a principle or a process make it so horribly confusing because they don't know how to adequately explain it.
If you're lucky enough to find folk who HAVE that ability it makes learning SO much easier.

Look up past year question papers and practice just those kinds of questions. You'll get decent scores that way for sure.
