it really depends on all sorts of factors. i'm really good friends with one of my exes, but we were best friends before we started dating. when we split, it took years to repair all that damage.

Not really. He's an ex for a reason. There are a couple of exes that I am still "friends" with. We're not super close or anything, but I don't ignore them when I see them.

@Athena123: yes. It was years ago and we've found other people after that.. though mine did not work out, theirs did and they already have a baby. They even made me a godparent to the kid and we see each other once in a while.
