Escaping surveillance at the supermarket

I was at the supermarket and became (quietly enraged) that everyone in the line was monitoring what I was placing on the counter for the cashier to ring through. I didn't know what to say or do exactly, but I wanted to just leave everything behind. I finally said, I forgot something and before she actually started ringing anything up, I was able to retrieve everything, retreat, and later find an empty lane that I was able to rush through.

I don't like people watching my every move and evaluating everything I am buying. I mean, it's no big deal but people should just mind their own business. I certainly don't track what other people are buying. It's offensive.
