I am not the BIG EASY

I went to New Orleans this past week for only 2 days. I wasnt even in the hotel for half an hour when this young guy approached me. He wanted to know where my husband was. I didnt want to tell him anything personal but I replied "where is your wife?"

He said come on...lets have sex. I bet you have never had sex with a Mexican before right? So much for formalities. I guess he was feeling lucky.

Then I fell in the gym and broke my right wrist. The ambulance took me to the University Medical Center. Every single patient had mental illness, drug overdoses or came in shackles...all in 2 days

What an experience.

I'm glad you told him where to get off.
:) I grew up within a stone throw and spent many days there. There is nothing easy about New Orleans.

I recall once attending a wake at a funeral home there, for a great uncle. Was like 15 or 16 and while my parents were visiting with old cousins I stepped across the street to a coffee shop. I'm 15 or 16 and within 10 or 15 minutes an old man pulled out a chair and sat at my table and asked "want to come back to my apartment with me?" Answer: "No". Then he said: "I'm a professor at Tulane and I can teach you a few things."

I got up and left, without finishing my coffee.

Sex with a Mexican, I mean, who can say no to that.

You should have said.

You had me at "where's your husband"

I've been to New Orleans a few times. You need to be really careful over there, especially at night.

I passed through New Orleans a couple of times heading south of it to fish the bayous there on fishing charters, and though I would love to see the historic places of the city, I knew I was safer in the swamps and bayous with the gator's snakes and sharks.

You were very unlucky. I like NOLA but it certainly has a dark underside

That’s the old Charity Hospital. It’s not the best.

I’m guessing you stayed in the French quarter.
