Any other so called millenials puzzled by the "millenial optimism" trend that seems to be a thing online for awhile now?

Like clearly they never listened to the lyrics of the songs we listened to or the ones they are putting in "millenial core" compilations for that matter. I mean "Fun:We are young" is pretty clearly about self destructive binge drinking and that is the mild stuff.

Binge drinking was a thing we all grew up on. 😒 Thanks to the Gen Xers
@Lostpoet Alot of it was very unhealthy self medicating as we watched our futures burn around us. And alot of the "optimism" at least for me and those I knew was just desperately clinging to bright spots we could cling to so we didn't go full Joker nihilism.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Yeah it was pretty bad, but I'm still glad that we grew up in the age before social media and all this Ai stuff.
@Lostpoet Oh absolutely. I look at my nieces and worry about what they are going through as high schoolers now.
maybe the world seems a better place if you are drunk, high, or something other than sober.
@MayorOfCrushtown For me drinking was about checking out. So was alot of the bullshit that seems like optimism in nostalgia without context.

I mean this is not new. People look at punk as cool music, hard parties, and DIY fashion but forget that the original punk generation thought they would die in a mushroom cloud by 1985.

There were very strong generation they match the Pluto in Scorpio generation based on death and sex. That’s why we’re having the whole gender revolution.
