Taking the bus to work is convenient in theory, but the ordeal of it makes me think walking several miles each way could make more sense.
1. I don't like the way everyone is staring out the window when the bus stops to pick me up.
2. I don't like the way everyone is staring at me, up front, when I get on.
3. I don't like the intrusive questions from the bus driver.
4. I don't like the risk of getting roped into conversations with the random bus riders.
5. I don't like the dirty looks when I call for the bus to stop to let me off.
6. I don't like the way everyone is staring out the window when I get off, and the bus starts pulling away to see where I am going.
The cost of driving, the traffic, and the cost of parking makes taking the car less of a good option although that still might be the way to go. I have paid for parking through December, so I need to decide if I should renew that for next year. It's nice to have that as an ongoing option, but with a rate increase I don't know if it makes economic (or environmental) sense.
