Believe it or not you can be extremely passionate about something and still be extremely sociable.
That's your standard politician BTW type of politics doesn't matter.
Just don't expect everyone to share your passions however. That's what they are criticizing.
Believe or not I am passionate about many things. Just most things people don't agree with what I am passionate about.
You and myself criticize Donald Trump all the time. That doesn't make him less passionate. And therefore less likeable. He does have his MAGA followers. And they are fanatically passionate about Trump.
I suspect it's when you approach fanaticism that people are complaining about. When there's nothing else but one passion.
They want others to be more diverse in their passions.
Look at the number of collections I have on my profile. No one is complaining about me being fanatical. There just too many topics to even fit on the profile bar. You must expand the collection list just to see all the collections.
So you like politics. Well politics covers hundreds of topics. Expand into those topics. Even Becky does it occasionally.

@DeWayfarer I talk about other things than just politics.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Guy you talk so little on other things then politics you don't need to make collections.
You have two possible collections politics and personal.

@DeWayfarer I think maybe that's the only thing you choose to read.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul I have said it before, I don't respond to every post of yours. That doesn't mean that I don't read it.
My interests BTW are maximized and the number of groups is over 5,000. I likely have the most groups than anyone on this site.
The algorithm goes by both those things. Among other things like friends and followers. With the priority on friends posting in those groups.
You are are in both. So I see all your posts.

@DeWayfarer I'm not sure you understand the dynamics of socializing like I do. It's more than just being a game of numbers.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul On this site it is. The algorithm tries to limit your feed.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer You're conflating topics (again). I'm not talking about how to drive up the numbers. I'm talking about the value of being passionate and not being discouraged by people who tell you it's cringe.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul guy I have seen on this site the very criticism you mention. It's one and the same.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Well, that criticism doesn't apply to me. That's my point.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Nothing applies to you. 😂
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Well, that's not true either. My point is that you're talking about how to be popular which I'm sure is important to people like you who are insecure, I guess you can say. It's not your fault; that's just the way you are. You are trying to equate passion over a diversity of topics with popularity.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul guy I'm not the one complaining about others. Only when the subject is constantly repeated do usually pop up on their posts.
I have been blocked over that many times.

@DeWayfarer Well, I'm just sharing my insight... I guess you can say I am offering life coaching. I'm providing a public service. I don't know I'm the one getting yelled at.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul that's a good joke. Coaching by complaint! 😂
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Yeah, but I'm not the one complaining.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M

@DeWayfarer I'm beginning to think you represent the problem about people who resent passion. No offence.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Guy you have too many things in common to me for me to be offended.
You just don't want to recognize those commonalities.

@DeWayfarer Except we're nothing alike. I'm basically a people-person. You have introverted behaviour. I'm curious about things. You act as though you are in the centre of things and already know everything.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul The main thing we are different in is you want to specialize and I want to generalize.
Specializing makes anyone introverted. I'm likely more socialized than you because of my general interests.
This is just on this site by me;
Art: Drawing, photography and computer graphics
Sciences: Math, computers, physics, biology, chemistry, astronomy
Writing: poetry/prose, stories.
Politics and history. All types
I have those collections and far more.
I acknowledge that I am an introvert.yet no where near as much as you.

@DeWayfarer You probably have me confused with someone else or someone in your imagination. I have seen that before with people who tend to live inside a fantasy.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Guy I know you better than you know yourself. Yet I don't try to insult others.
That last bit was indirect. Yet it's still a lame insult.

MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Well, I'm not an introvert... I mean technically. Maybe, I am, but if (IF) I am, it's to a slight degree, like a trace... but not as intense as you are implying.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Someday you'll learn otherwise. It's a matter of when. I didn't think I was an introvert either in my late twenties.
It's not a bad thing BTW.

Famous introverts who openly recognize their introverted nature include Albert Einstein, who believed solitude stimulated creativity, and Bill Gates, who has stated that introverts can succeed by leveraging their strengths. Other notable introverts include Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Steven Spielberg, all of whom made significant impacts in their fields while embracing their introverted traits

@DeWayfarer Well, I don't have social anxiety.
