The etiquette is to say: "Excuse me please, may I access my locker"?
That is being socially polite.
The anti social thing IS to not say anything at all!

@DeWayfarer Well, I didn't do either. I just sat it out until they left to avoid getting dragged into their conversation or getting inundated with their questions.

@DeWayfarer No. Not saying anything would be just pushing my way in-between them without literally saying anything. I wasn't in the mood for non-stop questions or getting dragged into their conversation. Besides, my point is they shouldn't have been blocking a locker. They should have chatted in an open area.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul no the point is for you to speak politely!
That is being socially polite!
Not to ignore. Nor be rude!

@DeWayfarer I am socially polite. Otherwise, I would have just told them to get out of my way.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul ignoring is not being socially polite.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer You don't understand. I showed restraint despite being blocked from my locker. For the 3rd time, I didn't want to be inundated with their questions or literally pulled into the conversation. So... I showed restraint... even up to 15 minutes of them wasting my time.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul no you have no restraint at all. Because both your solutions are to be rude!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer I was pragmatic and did what most people wish they had the discipline to do.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul it takes no discipline at all to be a fly on the wall!
It takes discipline to talk politely!

MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Well, I'm not anti-social.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul then learn the meaning of discipline. The military is a good place to learn it!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer I already know about discipline and practise it every day. You would do well to try it out yourself.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul Guy if I would have ignored people like you do, I would have been court marshalled by my CO!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Stop over-exaggerating. It's childish.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul I'm not because being mildly antisocial was got me out of the Air Force.
At least I lived with others for a whole year!

MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Well, I could probably do that.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul but I admitted to being antisocial even over 40 years ago.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer Yeah, I'm definitely not anti-social. I'm basically a people-person.

@DeWayfarer I'm just setting the record straight. I am and never have been anti-social. I have no idea where you got the stray idea that I might be.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@MarkPaul that is how being anti social works in the extremes.
The more you deny it the more you are confirming it.

@MarkPaul guy, it's like being an alcoholic! Exactly it!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@DeWayfarer You are obviously confused. There is nothing in my behaviour or attitude that suggests I am anti-social. We call that setting the record straight and denying a false claim.
