I was conversation-ambushed...

I don't really have the condition that some people call social anxiety anymore. That's not a denial, just a statement of factual evidence. But, today at the gym I was talking to someone I know and we were having what could qualify as a conversation and then someone came up to him, who he knew, and they started talking. Immediately, I literally just wanted to leave. I guess I kind of froze up. I couldn't think of anything to say and I just stood there and they talked to each other. I had no idea what to do. The person I had been talking to did try to include me in the conversation, but I just stood there and never said a word. It was just such a shock that this 3rd person literally came from nowhere. It was so unexpected.

After he left, I went back to talking as though nothing happened, but I could tell they both thought I acted a bit awkward. It's really just a temporary setback, I'm (mostly) sure. I mean, maybe I still have just a trace of it... social anxiety. After all, if it wasn't for that literal ambush from some random person, this wouldn't even have been an issue. People should be more respectful before they just barge into a conversation that is already underway.

Yeah you're an 'alpha' joke

@deadgerbil Look... this was an isolated incident. I think I made that clear.

@MarkPaul you definitely were dropped on your head as a baby or something

@deadgerbil What is your deal? You're intimidated by me... I suppose. But, I don't know why.

@MarkPaul you have a very strange idea of what it means to be intimidated. You're one of the many jokes of SW and you're totally oblivious

@deadgerbil Well, I just mean, except for a few isolated incidents I usually come across as being hard-charging and direct. And, I hold people accountable. I guess that could be intimidating. I mean, yeah I have some social limitations, I guess you could say. But, not like I used to. And, so that change, I suppose, could make people like you... you know... feel intimidated. That's not my intent though... to intimidate anyone.

@deadgerbil I've explained this to you. It's not that I couldn't handle them. It's that as an astute businessman and yes, a true alpha male, I found having someone standing at the door to "greet me" to be annoying, unnecessary, wasteful, and difficult to justify. It's not like I was afraid of them or anything. It's just that... it's too much attention when first entering a store. You may not realize this, but alpha males need physical space. So, that's really all it was. I hope that can close this issue.
