Have you ever worked on a car in the freezing cold? 馃ザ

Almost 5 years ago, I had to change the serpentine belt on an old 1999 Toyota Camry when it was somewhere between 20-25掳F. Luckily, that thing was easy as hell to work on. Boy do I miss it lol.

isn't that the reason you have the dealer work on it

@saragoodtimes Depends on if it's something that you can do pretty quickly. Some vehicles are easier to work on than others.
@SubstantialKick don't see much that someone can work on. when the dealer picks up my car he leaves a loner and brings it back clean and full of gas

@saragoodtimes Do you know how much a dealership charges? Doing it yourself can save you thousands of dollars
@HumanEarth I don't know the first thing about cars and my Husband doesn't have time.

@saragoodtimes Then it must be nice to be rich. We must come from totally different backgrounds.

We always look for ways not to spend money. And being a DIYer is one way to keep cost down
@HumanEarth what kind of work do you do yourself. my husband has neither the tools or knowledge about cars to do any work himself

@saragoodtimes I'm a farmer

@saragoodtimes @HumanEarth Cars nowadays are just so "technical" that there might be times when you don't have a choice but to take it to the shop or dealer. That's why in a way I don't mind driving an older vehicle at the moment.

@SubstantialKick

You either force yourself to learn the new stuff, charge the new stuff so it works the old way or you buy old.

I do all 3, plus I also grew up poorer then shit and we never had two pennies to rub together.

We learned and still live that way.
@SubstantialKick @HumanEarth everyone buys and drives what they can afford. we need dependable cars that get us where we're going without worry of breaking down. with all the crazies out there we also want our kids to feel safe when they're out and about
HumanEarth56-60, F
@saragoodtimes That's why you should buy 1984 and old. No computer, no electronics and built like tanks
@HumanEarth OMG no, give me new every few years and I'm very happy. trade it before problems occur
HumanEarth56-60, F
@saragoodtimes See that's what I'm talking about, you have to be rich. Always making payments or your paying for the vehicle in full.

Old car one payment, done and it will last another 50 years

But I'm done enjoy your wealth. See you in the afterlife.
