It’s cute when old people think I have no life experiences
Most of you have been nothing but wage slaves in your comfortable USA.
I’ve dealt with sexual abuse, domestic violence, mental illness (mostly depression, anorexia, and hallucinations). I grew up with my uncle drug dealing in my home, I grew up in a post Soviet country. Poverty and food was not always something I had. Death, childhood homelessness. To name some things. I actually posted most of my life story (some things like the sexual abuse was harder and was in other posts when I felt ready).
I find it very insulting to see old people who have had more of a comfortable life than me, talk about how I have no life experience.
Life is about QUALITY, not quantity.
Your life is not more experienced than mine when all you did was grow up in the suburbs of the USA, with both parents, a warm safe home, and food. No mental illness and no abuse.
People will argue about who had a worse childhood, and they fight with such ferocity. As if they have to protect their damage/preserve their reasoning for their entire life.
There's a table that can hold 10 pounds, there's one that can hold 100. I break both by overfilling them. The 100 pound one didn't have it worse because it too more to break.
That's something people need to get. Damage, pain, the fuckery of life doesn't care about age size gender etc.
Most likely the people who said that to you feel entitled because they had some older person tell them something similar, who they blew off because they DID have hardships, etc...and they harbored it till now, where it bloomed for/to you.
I've known people who are more than twice my age have full blown tantrums and act like moody teenagers who cause drama... All acting like they know everything
They're living proof that age doesn't define maturity 😅
