I know It did for me. The ones that we’re praised for being the way that they thought my parents wanted them to be have very little emotional intelligence and can’t really form real relationships.

It's never a good thing

Even if your parents boost you up, you are still trapped in their circle (lots of chess players tsined from young age go through this )
